Purpose
After years of reading books on personal development and wealth creation, I have seen a common pattern in them. They all advocate that there are 3 actions that a person needs to perform to develop:
Believe. These are the internal aspects and what is going on in a person’s mind. There is no point to try to improve yourself if deep inside you, you believe that you are a loser. You need to create a belief system that supports the life that you desire.
Know. You need to know the ways to achieve the things you desire. If you want to improve your life, what should you do? You might have the belief system and think that you can be better, but if you do not know what you need to do, then you will not change.
Act. Since you believe that you can change and you know what you need to do to change, it is now time to do it. Without action, you will not do anything and all the beliefs and the knowledge will go to waste. This is a personal thing that the individual must take charge.
All 3 aspects are interconnected and essential. You can not have 1 or even 2 of them and hope to succeed. You need all 3 of them.
My personal challenge has been the knowledge part. I have found many books that helped me with my belief system and I have improved it over the years. I am keen to take action when I know the way to follow. What I have found is that there are not many books out there that show the Practical Way. The practical steps are few and between and they are usually hidden inside a 300 page book. So you read the whole book to get out of it 5 practical steps.
Do not get me wrong. I believe that reading the whole book is great and I gain much. But sometimes, all I want are some practical steps I can use. I am not looking for a quick fix or an easy way. I am looking for the Practical Way to follow. I find it frustrating to read a whole book that 95% of it covers the beliefs to only get 5% on the practical steps. That is why I start this blog. I want to gather all the practical steps together to create the Practical Way.
This blog will cover the areas of personal development and wealth creation. These are two areas that I am very interested in and I would like to share my knowledge with you and learn what you have found, as well.
In the area of personal development, I will focus on the knowledge part. I will not cover the belief system, because I believe that there are many resources out there that you can use. I do not like to duplicate all this good work. I will mention the beliefs in certain posts, because they will help you to understand the knowlwedge better. The action part is something very personal and different for every individual, because everyone has different circumstances. If you would like to work on that area I would recommend that you find a mentor to guide you and a peer group to support you. My focus is on the practical steps. How and when you follow them are up to you. I want to make sure that you know them when the time comes to act.
In the area of wealth creation, I will focus on a variety of different areas that can help you with creating wealth and keeping it. I believe that there is no point to create wealth if you do not know how to keep it and manage it and even pass it on to your loved ones if you like. In my search for the knowledge I have come across a lot of ideas, but many of them focus on the US market. I will focus here in the UK market, because this is where I live and what I know. Some of the areas that I will cover are the following:
- UK Property
- Stock Investing
- Passive Income
- Minimise Expenses
- General Wealth Tips
This list will grow as I research and learn new ways. I want to hear your ideas on these topics as well, because I believe that many of you have great ideas and we can help each other.
Follow the Practical Way,
George
